As they came closer to the palace, it would become obvious that the size was not simply to do with gender. All of the other Jotnar seemed to be around Bylestir's height, and Loki stood out as a slender and small figure among towering giants. She did not seem to notice the disparity, for she had grown up with it all of her life, but it did prompt Bucky to ask. He didn't have the social tact that he needed for moments like this, so he just came out with it bluntly.

"Why are you so much shorter? Are all the others men?"

Loki's expression went blank for a moment before she smiled at him sweetly, and replied in honeyed tones. "Why are you so much uglier than the others?"

Bylestir snorted. He thought the question an odd one. Did the mortals not know anything about the people they had come to visit. "Be careful, mortal, my sister does not take kindly to her deformity being pointed out so nakedly."
