"Of course I wasn't interested," Steve said, folding his arms as if Tony were being a giant idiot. Honestly, sometimes he had real trouble remembering that Tony was supposedly a genius, because he could act like a real moron. "You were attached, you never gave me any indication that you liked me at all, even as a friend, and the last meaningful conversation we had before that night was that you hated me for what I represented to your dad."

So why would he ever have looked at Tony in that way?

"But, I guess there's a part of me that might become interested, or I wouldn't have suggested trying a few dates. I guess we won't know, though, since you just came to tell me and nothing else. It's no problem, so long as we're on the same page."
